Five Years of "Friends and Nervous Breakdowns"

Weerd ScienceFriends and Nervous Breakdowns March 22, 2005 Equal  Vision Records / Super Rap The release of Josh Eppard’s underground hip hop side project,  in addition to completely shaking up the progressive rock world,  kick-started the surfacing of the slew of Coheed and Cambria  side-projects.  Prior to this record (and the four leaked demos of  “Conspiracy Theories w/Out Mel Gibson,”  “Blueprint, “Methods ‘n’ Test  Tubes,” “Super Friends”), we’d  only heard Second Stage Turbine Blade and In Keeping Secrets of Silent  Earth: 3.  And The Prize Fighter Inferno’s  “I’m Going to Kill You” along with the  SSTB b-side “Elf Tower, New Mexico” on Equal  Vision’s 2003 compilation sampler Inventing The Scene.  Plus  Shabutie’s shortened version of the Penelope EP and  the full  Delirium Trigger EP.  And Josh’s first record, 3’s  Paint By Number.       Weerd Science “Conspiracy Theories w/Out Mel Gibson”  music video Since FaNB, the children of the fence have had the pleasure of listening  to:  Fire Deuce (Travis Stever’s brainchild- a rockin’  satirical collaboration with the members of Coheed and Cambria and 3  recorded on their tour together with Underoath in fall 2004) Children of the Deuce (May 10, 2005) CI Records   Deep Down & Dirty (May 29, 2007) CI Records    The Prize Fighter Inferno (Claudio Sanchez’s brianchild-  electronic / acoustic solo project.  Demos of “Blood  Machine” and “Run Like Hell” leaked out  with a few  acoustic demos from In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3 in   2004.  The full record, compiled of various recordings from over the  years, was released in 2006.  “I’m Going to Kill  You” was also included, however, the song saw a name change.   It is now called, “The Missing McCloud Boys.”  In  May 2008 Claudio posted a b-side on myspace, “From China With  Love.”  He’s only performed the material live a  handful of times, introducing a new song, “The  Echomaker” in 2008.
