Awesome! I remember this, so informative!
This article was written by the founder of the magazine, Zac Shaw. He currently rocks out in the incredible indescribable duo Dead Unicorn. He also just released a book, “So Much For Us,” which features excerpts from Pull as well as tons of photographs from the era. I wrote a bit about the book here. Fun fact, Zac went on to work with the company iLike (and he worked for garageband.com). The photo on the cover of the book is of the band Divest. Morgan Y. Evans (in the air) and Nate Kelley are pictured. Divest was also thanked on the In Keeping Secrets era Coheed and Cambria website (that’s how I learned of them). Maybe in the actual album too, I can’t remember. Dave Parker (Weerd Science/original Co&Ca touring Keyboardist) was also in Divest.
Remember that compilation that “Camouflage” and “Kinderwhore” were on? Error 404: Not Found? Morgan compiled that and a bunch of the bands on the cover of this issue of Pull are on there as well. The book came out around the 10 year anniversary of the compilation. The combination of those two inspired me to put together my own compilation of Hudson Valley music today. 19 tracks of pure awesomeness spanning a ton of genres. I’m in the process of getting together volume 2. Please lend an ear to Butterflies and Butcher Knives: Volume 1 (Hudson Valley, NY) - it’s a free totally legal digital download compilation sampler! There’s new artists on there as well as dudes from Fuse, 3, and Jerk Magnet.
Thank you so much for posting this George! Such a great read.

edit: Ah shit, I left out that Divest was the final formation of Brain Fuck Daddy. BFD became Bleed Theory (which Josh Eppard was in for a hot minute after he left 3) and after they got uh… banned from CBGBs changed their name to Divest (and played CBs again). Nate, being multi-instrumental, (as everyone in thefamily3 seems to be) played bass and contributed back-up vocals to some formations of that group. The other guitar player, Kurt Brown, stuck with Dave Parker through Counterfeit Disaster (which Zac Shaw played drums in at some point (he also drummed in Bleed Theory), replacing Dave Bodie who’s now in Kayo Dot (and was in Divest during their era of recording with Bad Brains’ Dr. Know), and was eventually replaced by Josh - after he left Coheed). Travis Stever even got in on the CD action contributing lead guitar and lap steel to, “Devil’s Handshake.” Kurt Brown joined Josh and eventually Dave Parker (and Anthony Masington) to form Mours. Phew! A fuckload has transpired since that article.
I certainly prefer the name, The Prize Fighter Inferno over Camille!
2nd edit: On the AKT Facebook page denizen Matt Welbourne pointed out that in the Year of the Black Rainbow book, the doctor uses the word “Camille” as the deactivation word for Coheed and Cambria.

Early Shabűtie article
If you are a Coheed fan please reblog this :)
I got this from god knows where ages ago, probably Cobalt and thought that people that may not have seen it would like to :D
Nice pics of Claudio with mega short hair and a fairly comprehensive description of the whole of the Shabűtie era
